Trollhalla, a new board game from Z-Man Games designed by Alf Seegert with art by Ryan Laukat, is a humorous medieval fantasy nautical adventure. Players are trolls who, tiring of hiding under bridges and shaking down travelers, gather a group of likeminded bridge dwellers and take to the high seas like a band of especially ugly Vikings to plunder and pillage.
Trollhalla (MSRP $40) is a pick-up-and-deliver, set collection, big-board game designed for 2-4 players, ages 8 and up. Trolls on ships gather plunder from nearby islands. With so much plunder available players may think they’ve died and gone to “troll heaven” (Trollhalla), but they still have to watch out for Billy Goats who can butt their treasures right back into the sea. The player who uses his trolls to fill his ship with the most plunder is the winner of this game, which typically can take from 45-75 minutes to play.
Z-Man Games plans to release Trollhalla in March.
