Nexus Games has announced its plans for distributing all future releases and reprints of their Wings of War game directly in the United States. Nexus’ previous distribution partner for the line, Fantasy Flight Games, will continue to sell existing backlist items as long as stock remains (see “’Wings of War’ Flies Off”).
Nexus will take over distribution in all markets outside the US that were serviced by Fantasy Flight. Distribution arrangements with Edge Entertainment (France and Spain) and Heidelberger (Germany) will not be affected.
Along with the announcement of the new distribution arrangement, Nexus has announced a new series of “airplane packs” for Wings of War. Twelve new packs are planned for the Wings of War Miniatures WW2 game, including the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk, Yakovlev Yak-1, Kawasaki Ki-61, and Reggiane Re.2001 Falco. Each plane will feature three different color schemes, and are expected to be in stores in August.
A reprint of the Wings of War WWI Deluxe Set is planned to release in September, and will be accompanied by a re-issue of popular Series 1 planes, such as the Rickenbaker’s Spad XIII, Elwood’s Sopwith Camel, Udet’s Albatross D.Va, and the ever-popular “Red Baron’s” Fokker DRI. New versions of WWI planes with new paint schemes will also be made available late this year.
