John M. Corradin of The Days of Knights in Newark, Delaware writes in to share his store's experience with the recent Magic Celebration Day event.

The Days of Knights is a small community store in Newark, Delaware.  We will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary this fall.  I reached out to the ICv2 because we had a quite different reception to the Magic Celebration Day event from other retailers.  We had well over 30 players participate in our Magic Celebration Day event, which is much larger than our normal Friday Night Magic crowd (15-20).  Most of the players stayed and played all-day and late into the evening.  The response was overwhelming and I am sure if Wizards decided to run another such event in the future we would have even a bigger turnout as word of mouth would-be very positive.

As for the promotional rewards I would have to agree that the response to the promotional codes was no more than lukewarm.  However the t-shirt promo was a huge success.  I wish I had more shirts!  We sold 7 of the 8 we had in the first 20 minutes and the last one at the 40-minute mark.  I was shocked since I didn't feel the t-shirts were as dynamic as many of the past shirts.  I am sure if I had another 8 they would have all sold as well.

I say "Hip, hip hooray" for this promotion.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if instead of promotional codes Wizards had provided actual promo cards!
