Mayfair Games has announced the June release of A House Divided (MSRP $30), a board game that allows players to simulate the campaigns of the American Civil War (1861-1865). In the two-person game one player plays for the Union and the other for the Confederacy. Unlike many Civil War board games that focus on a single major battle, the action between the North and the South in A House Divided extends through the full course of the conflict from the first battle of Bull Run to Lee’s surrender at Appomattox (or Grant’s surrender at Harrisburg if the South wins).
A House Divided, which was designed by Frank Chadwick and features art by Jason Just and Franz Vohwinkel, takes about 60 minutes to play. The deluxe gamebox includes: 234 die cut markers representing armies, leaders, and specials, plus a deluxe six-panel 21” x 21” game board, 2 Order of Battle forms, 6 dice (3 blue and 3 gray), and a rule book containing basic, standard, and advanced rules.
