Fantasy Flight Games has announced the coming second quarter release of the Sky Traders board game.  A board game of commerce and intrigue for two to five players ages 14 and up, Sky Traders is a fast-paced game in which players compete to earn the title of Master of the Sky Guild.  Players launch their skyships in to the clouds and experience adventure as the attempt to evade ruthless Wind Pirates and struggle to control the commodities markets. 

 

Sky Traders is a game in which players can adopt a cooperative strategy and try to create larger profits for everyone, or they can try to undermine their rivals and keep all the money for themselves.  At the start of every round players draw an “Ill Wind” card, which can have a variety of effects, and there are lots of ways to get rich including carrying contraband and finding treasure maps.

 

The deluxe Sky Traders board game includes 14 hexagonal “Sky District” tiles, which contain the features of the Sky Traders world and can be arranged in a huge number of different configurations to produce differences in game play every time.  Other items include a Commodities Exchange sheet and one Guild Influence track, 31 Ill Wind cards, plus five Sky Traders figures and five skyship sheets.
