The release of the long-awaited Sixth Edition of the popular Warhammer 40K sci-fi tabletop miniatures game appears to be imminent. A video posted on the Games Workshop site features the "23-VI-12" logo, which would appear to indicate that the game or at least the major details of the new iteration of Games Workshop’s most popular game in North America will be released on the 23rd of June, 2012.

 

Other dates including June 30th and July 7th have been floating around, but it now appears likely that something major involving Warhammer 40K Sixth Edition will occur on June 23rd.  A second video teaser on the Games Workshop site confirms the June 23rd date.  The latest news is the apparent leak of a blurry photo of what appears to be the 6th Edition hardcover, which looks authentic, but can’t be confirmed until its contents are revealed. 

 

An early draft of what was purported to be the Sixth Edition rules leaked out in January creating considerable controversy and it will be very interesting to compare the real published Warhammer 40K Sixth Edition with the leaked material.
