Playroom Entertainment has reinstated the retailer reward in its Killer Bunnies Quest Deluxe Kickstarter project, after confirming that it now meets the Kickstarter limits on retailer rewards. For $300, retailers will receive four copies of the Limited Edition Killer Bunnies Quest Deluxe Set (retail value $150 each, or $600), a KB t-shirt, 300 unspecified KB promo cards from a variety of KB games, other promotional items that can be used to promote the launch of the game in the store, and a listing in the supporter list. Retailer supporters will be expected to demonstrate that they operate genuine brick and mortar stores, and must have a shipping address in the continental U.S.
Playroom had removed the retailer reward earlier this month after being informed by Kickstarter that retailer rewards were no longer allowed (see "Kickstarter Bans Retailer Rewards"). After ICv2 publicized the change in Kickstarter’s policy, the company revised its policy to ban only retailer rewards over 10 items (see "Kickstarter Backs Down"). Playroom contacted Kickstarter to verify that its reward, which was for four items, was now acceptable under the new policy, and then reinstated the retailer reward.
Playroom president Dan Rowen said of the change, "[W]e are glad to have made a difference with the Kickstarter policy that didn’t seem to make sense, even if it only changed a bit... I think ICv2 helped make this change possible as well as the retailers, by petitioning for the reversal."
Killer Bunnies Quest Deluxe, which will also be made available through ACD, Playroom’s hobby game distributor, includes everything from the Killer Bunnies Quest series in one box. As of this writing, the project is at over 300% of its $10,000 funding goal, with 12 days to go.
