Cryptozoic Entertainment has announced the guidelines for the Season 8 Realm Qualifiers for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game that will be held in local hobby stores worldwide starting in November and will run through April as the lead up to the invitation-only Realm Championships in May.  Hobby stores worldwide are invited to hold these events by applying via the World of Warcraft Trading Card Website.

Cryptozoic is tweaking the format for the Realm Championships considerably this year.  First of all, the qualifying window is now two months longer than it has been in previous years, which provides more time for stores to hold events and for players to qualify for the Realm Championships. In addition the Season 8 Qualifiers will rotate through three different play formats.  The November and December events will feature sealed play, with January and February events involving Core constructed play, while the March and April events will be the first to offer the Contemporary format.  This year the Realm Championships will also feature the Contemporary format.  In order to find the most well-rounded players, Realm Championship events will feature at least three rounds each of Draft, Core, and Contemporary.

The prize structure of the Realm Qualifiers will also change, offering different participation prizes and new prizes for the top four finishers with each play format.  At each event participants will have the opportunity to win foil cards, deck boxes, and booster packs along with invitational points.
