Torn Armor combines elements of miniature-based wargames and strategy board games. Players use unit cards to build their armies, which then battle on the game board. The game is squad-based and skirmish scale. The game is set in the fantasy world of “Torn,” which is populated by anthropomorphic creatures defending their world from the Spartan-style “Sisk.”
The Core Box for the game will include 39 miniatures, four poster boards, game cards, full-color rulebook and scenario book, and 25 dice. In addition to the Core Box, Torn World plans to release expansion sets and downloadable pdf role-playing adventures using the Pathfinder system to support the line.
Torn World has been collaborating with other game publishers, including Reaper Miniatures, which will include a Torn Armor unit card in its Serath Clockwork Dragon miniature, and Fat Dragon Games, which will produce paper terrain pieces for the game.
Torn Armor has been funded through Kickstarter, with a campaign that will be closing on April 4. The campaign includes a $400 “Retailer Special” pledge level, which includes four copies of the game and one of each add-on product, as well as free shipping in the US.
