AEG returns to Japan once again for a new card game, Cheaty Mages, which it is planning to release this fall. This new game was designed by Seiji Kanai, who created the popular Love Letter card game, released in an English version by AEG last year.
In Cheaty Mages, the players are unscrupulous wizards betting on the monster fights in the arena, using their spells to help the monsters they want to win or hamper their opponents. But, if there is too much cheating in the arena, the judges will eject the fighter.
Cheaty Mages will feature the artwork of Noboru Sugiura. This will be the fourth game in AEG’s "Big in Japan" series of games, which includes Trains, Card of the Dead, and Love Letter, all originally published in Japan and licensed by AEG for the English language. Kanai’s Love Letter was nominated for a 2013 Origins Award (see "Origins Nominations Announced").
