Fantasy Flight Games has announced the Q3 release of Sid Meier’s Civilization: Wisdom and Warfare (MSRP $ 34.95).  This newest expansion for the detailed board game adaptation of the popular Firaxis computer game introduces six new civilizations (including Mongols, Aztecs, Zulu, French, and English) two new relics, new map tiles, new culture cards, a new city action and more.

With ‘warfare’ in the name, it’s no surprise to find optional replacement unit cards (with both Strength and Health values) to raise the level of battlefield tactics play. There are also alternative combat cards which change the total health value of surviving units after battles. In addition there are new Social Policies (like Rationalism, Expansionism, Pacifism and Organized Religion) that can change the cost of learning new tech and provide bonuses for long-term planning.

One of the new relics is the Ark of the Covenant, which offers two free advances on the culture track. The expansion also offers six new wonders, including Notre Dame- which offers powerful abilities like Research.

The Wisdom and Warfare Expansion contains twelve map tiles, two relics, nearly 150 new cards, a rulebook and more to be announced.

Wisdom and Warfare will be the second expansion for Civilization: the Board Game after 2011’s Fame and Fortune (see "'Fame and Fortune Expansion'").
