Fantasy Flight Games has announced plans to release the party board game Blood Bound in October.

Like Mafia and Werewolf, this large group party game is a combination of deduction, bluffing and betrayal.  Players take the role of a member of one of two rival vampire clans (Rose and Beast), with the goal of working with their clan-mates to capture the opposing group’s leader.  However, since all players’ identities are hidden, individuals must use their unique character abilities in combat to force other players to reveal information about their identities (though bluffing and lying are allowed).  From there, players build alliances (or resort to treachery and deceit) to uncover and capture the rival clan leader.  However, if the wrong vampire is captured and identified as the rival’s leader, the rival clan wins.

If an odd number of players is participating, there is a variation that adds an Inquisitor.  The Inquisitor plays solo against both clans.

Blood Bound is a game for 6 - 12 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 15 - 30 minutes.  The box contains 54 cards (including Character, Ability, and Reference cards), 65 Tokens (blue beast, red rose, gray question mark), 1 cardboard dagger, and a rulebook.  MSRP is $19.95.
