Fantasy Flight Games is releasing a beta-test rulebook for Star Wars: Age of Rebellion "soon" from its Webstore and “participating” retailers. The limited edition, 244-page, softcover rulebook will have an MSRP of $29.95. The beta period will end on October 8th, 2013.
Star Wars: Age of Rebellion is the second of three cross-compatible Star Wars RPG systems from FFG. The Star Wars: End of Empire Core Rulebook has already been released (see "'Star Wars: Edge of Empire Core Rulebook'") with plans for the first adventure Beyond the Rim, set for 3rd Quarter Release (see "First 'Star Wars RPG' Adventure") and Star Wars: Enter the Unknown (see "'Star Wars: Enter the Unknown'") a supplemental sourcebook, for 4th Quarter release.
Star Wars: Age of Rebellion takes place during the Rebellion time period, in which players take the roles of Rebel Alliance members fighting the oppressive Galactic Empire. Since the book is a beta intended to generate feedback, it will have much less art and background material than the final version, and the information on adversaries, equipment, and vehicles is abbreviated to focus on the playtesting. The setting is cross-compatible with existing FFG Star Wars RPG material.
