Fantasy Flight Games has announced the Q1 2014 release of Blue Moon Legends (MSRP $49.95), a collected edition of Reiner Knizia’s classic two-player card game Blue Moon.  In this game players struggle to gain the favor of the elemental dragons and establish their claim to the throne.  FFG’s Blue Moon Legends includes every deck expansion ever released for the Blue Moon game.  Players can opt to play with any of the nine pre-constructed “people” decks, or they can construct a deck of their own from nearly 300 “people” cards to better suit their playing skills.
 
With the throne empty and the city in turmoil, the situation is set for one player to rise to the throne to restore peace and prosperity to Blue Moon City.  Players have to assemble their allies, forge an army, and win the support of the elemental dragons.  Gameplay can be complex as players have to maintain enough power in their hands to ward off attacks.  Clever use of “booster cards” to temporarily augment the abilities of a player’s character cards, can help, but players have to learn to use the powerful “leadership cards” as well.
 
The deluxe Blue Moon Legends box contains one game board, one basic rulebook, one Advanced Concepts booklet with rules for deck customization, nearly 350 bridge-sized cards, three plastic dragon figures, and nine plastic crystals.
