Fantasy Flight Games has updated its Media Center, the iPad-based device for point of sales marketing (see "FFG's Steve Horvath on Media Center Program"), and lowered the order threshold to qualify for a free Center.  Retailers can now get a free iPad-based Media Center with a $600 order, down from $999.

One set of changes relates to the video stream on the Media Center.  The video stream that plays while the Media Center is not being actively used now has reduced volume and a shorter 30-second running time for each video in the stream.  When someone interacts with the device, the volume increases temporarily, then returns to the quieter volume when the machine is not being actively used.

Two databases have also been added to the device.  A complete card database listing every card for FFG’s Living Card Games is now included, and automatically updated with each release.  Media Centers now also include a card sleeve database that provides the size and quantity of sleeves for every FFG title, as well as for games from many other publishers.

Fantasy Flight says the device can increase sales 35% or more for stores that deploy it.
