With the start of a new year, we decided to update the top funded tabletop games for Kickstarter chart.Our list was last updated in September (see "Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters") and there have been some new products that bumped others off the record-setting list.
Reaper Miniatures’ Bones II: The Return of Mr. Bones (see "'Bones II' Finishes over $3 Million") almost, but didn’t quite unseat the first Bones campaign from the #1 spot, garnering a total of $3,169, 611. It attracted 2,780 fewer backers than the first Kickstarter, but those that did pledge, spent an average of $18.56 more than the first time.
The other new entry is the Shadows of Brimstone board game from Flying Frog Productions (see "New Flying Frog GameTops $1.3M"). The $1,341,305 Kickstarter landed at #8, and proved rather conclusively that there are not enough Wild West horror miniatures out there (see "Top Ten Tabletop Kickstarters: How They Do It").
The dollars required to make the Top 10 went up around $25,000 from September’s list to over $950,000.
The two titles bumped off the list were Myth miniatures by MERCS Miniatures, and Ogre Designer’s Edition from Steve Jackson Games.
