Cryptozoic Entertainment will release HAWKEN: Real-Time Card Game, based on the free-to-play first person-shooter mech video game published by Meteor Entertainment and developed by Adhesive Games, in February.
There are two different SKUs: Scout vs. Grenadier, and Sharpshooter vs. Bruiser. Each contains two 40-card decks, a heat and range tracking board, and mech standees. Players can mix and match the cards in each deck to customize the mech decks.
Each box retails for $15.00. The boxes also contain a code that can be redeemed online for 6500 credits in the HAWKEN video game.
Players use decks that contain cards for the primary and secondary weapons systems, thrusters and various other high-tech instruments, and attempt to draw and place cards on the table as fast as possible. Speed must be balanced against science though, since mechs can overheat quickly. The round ends when a player pulls the FIRE! Button card from the center of the table. Then players calculate the range and speed of their mechs, weapons fired, and heat generated to determine the winner.
