Lane Brown of The Sword and the Grail in Asheville, North Carolina saw Darin Batten's response (see 'Darin Batten of All Star Comics and Games on WizKids Approved Play') to WizKids' new policies on organized play use of older figures (see 'WizKids Shifts Tournament Play'), and disagrees with Batten:

As a retailer I welcome the idea of product rotation.  Wizards of the Coast has been doing it for Magic and it keeps people interested for longer terms when the environment changes.  One of the aspects I like about it is that they don't have to keep raising the power level for figures or cards.  They change enough to make a new figure or combo, and people buy it.  Of course, I don't like being stuck with the older product, but over time it will sell.  The sets of Magic I have in my store only go so far back because they do sell given time, regardless of whether they are type 2 or not .
