Wizards of the Coast is preparing to launch a new kind of 'collectible' game based on one of the oldest collectibles around -- marbles. Just as the collectible miniatures games followed the collectible card game paradigm, so does WotC's new Marbloids, which features 5 marbles plus a rules insert in every Marbloids Booster Pack ($6.50 retail). There will be a total of 60 different Marbloids in the first series for fans to collect, and of course there will be 'Rare' and 'Super Rare' marbles so designated by the inclusion of silver and gold glitter in their design. The WotC Marbloids game is due out this fall and should appeal to a young, pre-Magic, demographic.
