Pokemon USA will release a special 17-card set, the Pokemon Organized Play Series 1 Card Set, in September for use exclusively in organized play events.  The cards will be available in 2-card promotional boosters through participation in the Pokemon leagues and other organized play events. 

The cards featured in the promotional series will be available only through organized play events for a period of six months, after which they will be incorporated into regular series of game cards.  New series will be released every six months.
