WizKids has announced the next base set for MechWarrior, Age of Destruction, planned for release in January.  The set will ship in Starter Sets, which will each contain two predetermined Mercenary armies, dice, rules, and terrain; and Booster Packs, which will each contain four randomly selected units, including one Mech, one vehicle, and two infantry, plus three randomly selected combat enhancements cards (one pilot, one gear, and one random card).

According to game designer Jordan Weisman, the new game will allow players to customize their Mechs with pilots and different kids of gear; alliances will bring factions together or tear them apart.
