According to the Hollywood Reporter, WWE is having preliminary discussions with a number of cable venues about the programming currently carried by Viacom's Spike TV. Among the companies involved are Turner Broadcasting, NBC Universal (for USA), FX Networks, and Spike. Five hours of weekly programming are involved in the negotiations, including the weekly two hour 'Raw' block, 'Heat,' Velocity' and Experience.'
The article indicates that WWE is exploring a move because of a 50% decline in ratings and the aging of its audience (which currently has a median age of 34) since it moved to Spike four years ago.
