Stephen Quillen of ComicsMD in Accokeek, Maryland saw our coverage on Heroscape pricing (see 'Heroscape Boosters Planned'), and shares his concerns over the wholesale pricing of the line for hobby stores.
We saw the Heroscape game from Milton Bradley this past September, were suitably impressed with the product, and ordered some. The game itself is really a great game from inception to execution and the sales presentation had us excited. When Heroscape arrived, it had a net price of $42.00. So our problem was having to price it. We went out on the Internet to get an idea of prices and were very surprised by the $39.99 MSRP. We simply cannot do this. This is just utterly ridiculous from a business stance and has caused us to not even consider buying the boosters (which they most likely will price the same way). For a game that we felt had so much potential, this has massively discouraged us from carrying the game in our shop.
