White Wolf Publishing is planning a September release for Racer Knights of Falconus, a constructible strategy game published under its Arthaus imprint. The game is set in a fantasy world where Knights battle it out in magically powered racing cars in much the same fashion that medieval knights faced off in jousting tournaments, with some aiming to destroy their opponents (though others are looking to complete a set course ahead of all others as if it were an armed grand prix race). Players assemble a Racer from several different plastic cards and choose a Knight. A single foil pack (retail $2.99) includes everything needed to assemble one Racer, along with a Knight card, rules sheet and two dice. By purchasing more packs players can assemble Racers (and find Knights) that suit their preferences -- building heavy combat Racers or light and speedy Racers or anything in between since the Racers are very customizable with interchangeable engines, chassis, tires, armor, and weapons.
The game is set at Falconus, an academy where the best young Knights from five different species (human, alfar, gremlins, ogres, and serpid) train. Each species brings unique abilities and racing styles to the game. Each foil pack contains four plastic cards (enough to make one Racer) and 1 cardstock Knight. The Retail Display Box (retail value $104.65) includes 35 foil packs and an organized play kit containing 1 plastic chase card, 8 cardstock Knight chase cards and an OP rules sheet. Racer Knights of Falconus won't ship until September, but White Wolf plans to have preview packs and events for the new game at Gen Con Indy.
