Niagara, a family friendly adventure boardgame by Thomas Liesching, won the prestigious Spiel des Jahres ('Game of the Year') prize, which was awarded this year in Berlin on June 27th.  Niagara, a game in which a group of from 2-5 fearless canoeists battle the white water rapids of the Niagara river and each other in order to collect diamonds and other gems from the river banks, is available in the U.S. from Rio Grande Games.  Players compete on a three-dimensional game board representing the Niagara River and its dangerous falls.  Average playing time is 60 minutes and the game has a suggested retail of $44.95.
