WizKids has announced a number of new releases for October and November including an expansion for the Battlestar Galactica Collectible Card Game, a Pirates: Quest for Davy Jones Gold board game, two non-blind series of mega-miniatures, one for MechWarrior and one for the Marvel HeroClix, plus a new expansion for the Pirates Constructible Strategy Game.
Battlestar Galactica: Betrayal, which is due out in October, adds 165 cards to the BSG CCG with new characters and new versions of fan favorites. Betrayal covers the action on Caprica including the initial Cylon attack, Helo's trials, Starbuck's quest for the Arrow of Apollo, and Starbuck's and Helo's return to the fleet with the Arrow and Sharon. The 15-card booster packs come 36 per display (MSRP for the display is $125.64). Each pack contains 11 commons, 3 un-commons, and 1 rare card. Five hundred Booster Packs will have a random common card replaced with a card that can be redeemed for one of 500 autographed cards.
Pirates: Quest for Davy Jones Gold (MSRP $24.99) takes the Pirates Constructible Strategy Game to a new level with an action-packed board game that bears a passing resemblance to the mega-popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies with ghosts and sea monsters threatening ships sailing dark and cursed waters in search of gold to plunder. The game contains eight ships and two sea monsters, five crew/treasure cards, seven islands, a 28' x 28' vinyl play mat, two dice and complete rules.
In November WizKids will release Pirates of the Mysterious Islands, an expansion for the Pirates CSG that introduces cool Nautilus-style submarines and a plethora of Jules Verne-type adventures. The Pirates of the Mysterious Islands Packs include two sailing ships or sea monsters, one treasure or crew card, one mysterious island card, a rules sheet and a die. The 36-pack Display Box has an MSRP of $143.64.
Also in November WizKids is releasing two non-blind packaged Action Packs, the MechWarrior Poseidon Action Pack (MSRP $24.95), which contains the largest MechWarrior 'mech' ever created for the popular science fiction CMG, and the Marvel HeroClix X-Men Days of Future Past Action Pack (MSRP $24.99), which includes a colossal Advanced Sentinel figure along with a Rachel Summers figure and a Wolverine -- Colonel Logan figure.
WizKids also plans to ship the Marvel Supernova HeroClix Expansion (covered previously by ICv2, see 'WizKids Fleshes Out 2006 Line') and the Oshii Board Game (see 'WizKids Announces New Board Game') in October.
