Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas – The Battle for the Pumpkin King pops up in the number 3 spot, despite being released late in the month, and Disney Manga: Stitch and the Samurai: The Complete Collection is at number 10. Although both are branded as "Disney Manga," the Nightmare Before Christmas story is actually a graphic novel by two non-Japanese creators. Stitch and the Samurai, though, is Japanese and was originally published as three trade paperbacks (see "Disney Manga") before being compiled into a single hardcover.
There’s one other completely new property on the chart: Oddballs, a graphic novel by James Rallison and Ethan Banville, the creators of the Netflix animated series. The book contains five new stories set in the world of the show.
New volumes and first volumes of long-running series make up the bulk of the chart, with just a few of each title. One Piece may have set a record for the longest time span between volumes on the chart, with Volume 103, a July 2023 release, at number 16 and the first three-in-one volume, which was released in 2009, at number 19.
