Dandadan is a Shonen Jump manga about a boy who’s fascinated by UFOs and a girl who’s really into spirits, and it’s rated Mature, so it's not a teen title like most Shonen Jump titles. Nonetheless, new volumes typically make the Top 20 when they come out. The anime based on the series debuted in October, though, and that seems to have given it a significant boost: The first four volumes are on the November chart, with Volume 1 at #4, marking the first time more than one has hit the Top 20.
Topping the chart is the first volume of VIZ Media’s newest Shonen Jump series, Kagurabachi, which features a young man, originally trained as a swordsmith, who is on a mission to avenge his father's murder. VIZ was heavily promoting the manga at NYCC this year (see "NYCC Photos – Part 3"), and it will be featured (alongside longtime hit Boruto) in next year’s FCBD comic (see "Silver Sponsors Announced for Free Comic Book Day 2025").
Next on the list is the newly released 10th volume of Solo Leveling, followed by Vol. 107 of One Piece, two series that have gotten a significant boost from anime and movies. And after that is the latest example: Vol. 1 of Dandadan.
Wanted! Eiichiro Oda Before One Piece builds on the popularity of that best-selling series with some early stories by the creator, including the short story from which the One Piece manga was developed.
It's worth noting that Uzumaki was absent from the BookScan Top 20 from September 2021 to September 2024, when the anime debuted.
