There will be a little bit of sunshine in the upcoming movie adaptation of Get Smart (see 'Get Smart Casting Underway') as Alan Arkin joins his Little Miss Sunshine co-star Steve Carell.

Arkin, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of the heroin-snorting grandfather, will take on the role of the chief of CONTROL, a role made popular by Edward Platt on the TV series.

The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway will play Agent 99 to Carrel's Maxwell Smart.

Also cast are former wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Terrence Stamp.

The film is scheduled for release on June 20, 2008.
