Lucas Licensing announced that it has awarded licenses for Star Wars collectables to newcomer eFX and master toy licensee Hasbro, with new products due out this year.  These licenses replace those formerly held by Master Replicas (see 'No More Star Wars Toys from Master Replicas').

Hasbro got the most important of the licenses awarded, for high-end, replica light sabers.  Hasbro's 'Force FX' line, due out this spring, will include replicas of weapons used by Darth Vader, Luke Skykwalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Maul, and Yoda.

The Lucas license to eFX for 'collectible, limited edition replicas of both full-sized and scaled props; studio-and reduced-scale vehicles and ships; full-sized helmets; and high-end, die-cast vehicles and ships that encompass the entire Star Wars universe' was more mysterious.  Ownership of the eFXcollectibles Website is hidden, and there was no further description of the new company with the announcement.

But a sleuth at Force.net tracked down the ownership of three eFX-related Websites to Bryan Ono, who worked on the Star Wars line at Master Replicas.

The first eFX products will be 'unveiled' at San Diego Comic-Con, according to the announcement.
