AMC’s new Prisoner miniseries (see “Prisoner Miniseries in November”) debuted with high ratings but despite high trial, repeat was low, and viewership on the second and third nights of the three-night event plummeted.  The first night, on Sunday the 16th, brought in around 2.2 million viewers, close to AMC’s highly regarded Mad Men, which had occupied that slot in previous weeks.  But viewers left the show in droves after the first night’s two-hour intro, with less than a million showing up for the second and third nights.

The conclusion of most reviewers?  The show just wasn’t very good.  After waiting for decades for a reboot of the iconic property, it appears that fans (except for that faithful million) will still be waiting for the Prisoner they wanted.
