Adrian Battaglia of Comics Etc. in Syracuse, New York joins the chorus on toy assortments (see 'Michael Tierney of Collector's Edition on Matrix Toy Assortments'):
In the June issue of Previews, Diamond comics offers the JLA Animated Wave Three Figures with the exclusive Hawkgirl figure. I have contacted Mattel and Diamond and neither can tell me how many, if any Hawkgirl figures will be in a case. This is the only figure any customer has asked for from this set and there is no way I will even order these figures without that info, yet Mattel and Diamond both are totally unprepared to give the retailers this info. This wave is also going to include repeats from the previous two waves. I already am drowning in Superman figures from these waves and realistically will make no money on this product if they are once again included.
Does anyone out there have any info on the frequency of the Hawkgirl figures in this product? After being burned with eight Neo figures out of the 12 figures in the McFarlane Toy's Matrix assortment, I am very leery of ordering more products from what I perceive to be completely irresponsible companies. I've tried talking to McFarlane Toys before and found them to be completely condescending, who think comic retailers know nothing about their own businesses. I do know plenty after 20 years in this business and one thing I know for certain is that companies that take that attitude get very little if any business from me. If anyone, including these manufacturers have any input, I would like to hear it.
