Michael Tierney of The Comic Book Store in Little Rock, Arkansas saw the news on the size of the collector portion of the action figure market (see 'Action Figure Collector Market $240 Million') and notes the importance of the category name:

Reading the ICv2 article about the massive size of Action Figure/Adult Toy sales, it occurred to me how important identifying a product can be.  When a lady once commented about how a male customer was buying 'a doll,' he quickly retorted, 'It's an action figure.'  It's amazing the difference that this simple designation of definition can make.  Just how big would the market be if it were referred to as dolls for guys?  So much for Shakespeare's, 'A rose by any other name...'
