Wallace & Gromit:  The Curse of the Were-Rabbit took the Oscar for best animated feature on Sunday night, beating out Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (see 'Howl's Moving Castle Gets Academy Award Nomination').  While the contest was a guaranteed win for pop culture retailers, who can sell products associated with all three nominated features, the Wallace & Gromit win can open up a new frontier, since Burton and Miyazaki products are already better established than those based on the Aardman oeuvre.

Wallace & Gromit:  The Curse of the Were-Rabbit also swept the Annies (see 'Wallace & Gromit Sweeps Annie Awards').

King Kong was the genre film with the most craft awards (sound editing, sound mixing, and visual effects); The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe took the make-up award.
