The Canadian company Cookie Jar Entertainment, which developed the anime series Spider Riders with the Japanese advertising agency Yomiko, has awarded the master toy license for the 52-episode anime series to Mattel.

The Spider Riders anime (produced in Japan by Bee Train, the studio responsible for the .hack// anime series) debuted last Saturday on the popular Kids' WB Saturday morning animated block (see 'Spider Riders on Kids WB').

Mattel, as the master toy licensee, has exclusive rights to make Spider Rider action figures, vehicles, play sets, and role-play toys.
