According to The Hollywood Reporter Tim Cheung, a veteran animator who was a key player at Dreamworks animation, has joined the Hong Kong animation studio Imagi International Holdings, which produced the TMNT movie and is working on CGI Astroboy and Gatchaman features that are slated for release in 2009.

 

At Dreamworks Cheung was a key player in the development of the studio's computer animated films.  He was the senior animator on Antz, and worked on the Shrek trilogy as directing animator, supervising animator and head of character animation. 

 

Cheung will join Imagi as Vice President of Animation and he will manage a staff of over 400 animators and supervise the production of all of Imagi's upcoming CGI films including Astroboy and Gatchaman.  Kevin Munroe, who directed the TMNT feature for Imagi, is set to helm the Gatchaman feature.
