Dynamic Forces has announced that it will release trading cards based on Battle of the Planets in June.  The cards will feature a combination of images from the original TV series and new illustrations specially created for the set.  Alex Ross will be doing art for nine cards that will fit together into a single image.  Other artists contributing new art are John Cassaday, Jae Lee, Pat Lee, Mike Allred, Dan Fraga, Dan Parsons, Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, and Alex Horley.

 

The full set will consist of 90 base cards, plus rare hand-sketched, signed, and 'cel' insert cards.  The cards will be sold in six-card packs and come packaged in 40-pack boxes.  MSRP is $1.99 per pack.  

 

Battle of the Planets is enjoying a revival this year, with videos doing well (see 'Top 10 Cool Anime'), and a variety of licensed products due from Diamond Select (see 'Diamond Select Gears Up').
