The Hollywood trades are reporting that Dominic Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings) and Daniel Henney (My Name is Kim Sam-soon) have joined the cast of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which stars Hugh Jackman.  Monaghan will play Barnell, a mutant from Logan's past with the power to manipulate electricity, while Henney will portray Agent Zero, a fellow member of the Weapon X Team in the origin saga, which is set 17 years before the start of Fox's trilogy of X-Men movies.

Gavin Hood is directing from a script by David Benioff and the film is set to start production this month in New Zealand for a May 1st 2009 release.  It is quite likely that this Wolverine saga will be the only Marvel comics-based film released during the summer of 2009.  The addition of Monaghan and Henney rounds out a cast that (along with Jackman) includes Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Lynn Collins, will.i.am, and Taylor Kitsch (see ' Wolverine Cast Signed').
