Inkworks has just announced a new collection of Buffy The Vampire Slayer trading cards, Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Evolution. Images for the 50-card all chrome-look set have been taken from each year of the popular television series from its first season through the previews of the current year's shows (Season 6). This marks the first time Inkworks has created a premium chrome-look set for its best-selling Buffy franchise. The all-new images manage to convey the developing saga of Buffy and her friends from the first season to previews of the show's current campaign. The long-running Buffy series has adjusted to its new home on the UPN network, and with series star Sarah Michelle Gellar headlining the live action Scooby Doo movie this summer, Buffy should have a higher profile than ever.
Chase cards for the Buffy: Evolution series include a parallel set of refractor-chrome-look cards, one of which will be included in every pack. Six different foil-etched chase cards will be randomly inserted at a rate of one for every eleven packs. Inkworks is also including 3 different box loader cards (one per box) and 1 case loader card (one per case). Each pack from this premium set will include 5 cards (one of which is a refractor). Each box holds 24 packs and each case contains 12 boxes. Inkworks' product announcement states: 'This product will be produced in very low quantities,' although no production figures were provided. More information about possible autographs and other potential additions should be announced shortly.
