The Upper Deck Company in partnership with FreemantleMedia Enterprises has announced the April 21st release of a 138-card set based on the most popular program on American network television, American Idol.  Upper Deck’s American Idol Trading Cards will be released on Tuesday, April 21st and will be available at Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, and Toys ‘r’ Us locations as well as at hobby stores.

The 138-card set contains a variety of Idols, past and present, including Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, and David Archuleta as well as some of the show’s “novelty” acts such as the unfortunate William Hung.  Chase cards include autograph cards from this season's Top 36 finalists, lenticular “make-over” cards, plus cards featuring the top two finalists from every season. 

Autograph cards will be found in a ratio of 1 for every 12 packs of cards in the hobby release, while the ratio for the mass market release is one autograph card for every 65 packs.
