A new English language Tetsuo film, tentatively titled Tetsuo Project, has just finished shooting and is in post-production, according to Screen Daily. Shinya Tsukamato, who directed Tetsuo: the Iron Man, the 1989 original, and Tetsuo II: Body Hammer, the 1992, is writer, director, director of photographer, art director, editor, and appears in the new film.
The cyberpunk first film, in which a man mutates into a metallic killing machine, was an underground hit. This third film arose from a suggestion by Quentin Tarentino, according to the report, who suggested a new version set in the U.S. The film was ultimately made in Japan.
The film is being shopped at Cannes.
