We round up here casting news on three upcoming films with geek culture connections.  Emma Stone, who’s playing Gwen Stacy in the upcoming Spider-Man film (see “Emma Stone Will Play Gwen Stacy”), is being cast in the lead role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Del Rey produced the graphic novel adaptation of the novel (see “Review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”). 

Alex Tse, who wrote the screenplay for Watchmen, will write the screenplay for the adaptation of James O’Barr’s The Crow, according to Variety.  Bradley Cooper has been cast as the lead (see “Bradley Cooper in Talks for ‘The Crow’”).  The film will have to clear up a lawsuit by The Weinstein Company as part of its preparations for a fall shoot (see “Litigation Clouds the Crow”).

And moving west, Tom Wilkinson is being cast in the role of an Old West railroad tycoon in Lone Ranger, according to Variety.  He’ll join Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp in the Gore Verbinski-directed film (see “Who Was that Masked Winklevoss”).
