Carly Foulkes, the spokeswoman for T-Mobile who invariably wears pink and spouts apparently useful mobile phone advice, has snared the flashy role of Retro Girl in the pilot episode of the adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’ Powers comic book series. Bendis revealed the tidbit that Foulkes would assume the role of Retro Girl in an interview conducted last week on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Geektime.
It is the murder of the highly popular Retro Girl that starts off the chain of events in the first narrative arc of the Powers comic, which it appears will also provide the storyline for the pilot episode of this police procedural set in a world where superpowers are common. Foulkes will join a cast that includes Lucy Punch as Deena Pilgrim (see “Female Lead Cast for Powers”) and Jason Patric as Christian Walker (see “Male Lead Cast for Powers”).
Punch and Patric play a newly formed team of police investigators attempting to solve the murder of Retro Girl. Other cast members announced so far include Charles S. Dutton as Captain Cross, and Bailee Madison as Calista.
