The American Federation of Musicians Local 47 picketed Marvel Entertainment at two locations Tuesday, protesting the outsourcing of the studio’s film scores to Europe, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The informational pickets were set up at a location shoot for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre.
This dispute is ongoing; the union first picketed Marvel over the outsourcing of the Avengers score to Europe last year (see "Musicians Picket Marvel Over 'The Avengers'").
Earlier this month, the union picketed the shooting of Iron Man 3 in North Carolina.
The AFM drew attention at the pickets to the fact that Marvel gets tax credits for siting its production in the U.S., but then has the scoring work done offshore.
