The latest on Star Wars Episode VII includes a delay in shooting, two new actors added to the cast, and a new location, according to an announcement from the production.
Harrison Ford, who broke his leg during filming (see “Harrison Ford Broke Left Leg, Not Ankle”), is recovering well, according to the report, but schedule adjustments caused by his injury will lead to a two-week hiatus in shooting in August.
Two new actors have been added to the cast, both relative unknowns: American actress Crystal Clarke and British actor Pip Anderson. They were chosen from an open casting call that drew over 37,000 applicants to the events in 11 cities in the U.S. and U.K., and another 30,000 online applicants.
Shooting in Abu Dhabi (see “’Star Wars: Episode VII’ Will Cost At Least $200 Million”) has wrapped, and production is now continuing at Pinewood Studios in London.
The film is reportedly still on track for its planned December 18, 2015 release date.
