Actor Brandon Routh will have a recurring role on the CW series Arrow for the show’s third season as Ray Palmer, aka The Atom, according to TVLIne.
Playing comic book characters is nothing new for Routh, who played Supes in 2006’s Superman Returns (see "Superman Movie Gets Producer, Star"), starred as the title character in 2010’s Dylan Dog: Dead of Night (see "From 'Superman' to 'Dylan Dog'"), and even had a small role as Todd Ingram (Evil Ex #3) in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (see "'Scott Pilgrim' Cast Takes Shape"). Now he’ll bring The Atom to Starling City, in the recurring role of scientist and inventor Ray Palmer, the new owner of Queen Consolidated.
Other guest stars this season will include Devon Aoki as Katana, Peter Stormare as Count Vertigo, and Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro, Katana’s husband and Oliver’s Hong Kong handler.
The Season 3 premiere of Arrow will be October 8 (see "'The Flash,' 'Arrow' Launches Set").
