Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter will be joined by Howling Commandos Dum Dum Duggan (Neil McDonaugh) and Jim Morita (Kenneth Choi) in a 1940s flashback sequence kicking off the September 23rd premiere episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  A photo of the threesome who shared the big screen in Captain America: The First Avenger shows them, machine guns in hand, in full 1940s fighting regalia.
 
TV Guide revealed the 1940s flashback in photo showing the S.H.I.E.L.D. reunion of the three alumni of the first Captain America film and described the rationale behind the trip to the past as being rooted in Agent Coulson’s sense of history.  Faced with rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. after the cataclysmic events of last season’s finale, Coulson is reminded of the travails of Agent Carter who had to build up the S.H.I.E.L.D. predecessor the Strategic Scientific Reserve.
 
A number of other characters from the Marvel Universe are set to make their Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts this season (see "The Absorbing Man to Soak It Up on 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'").
