Starz has ordered ten half-hour episodes of the new Evil Dead series that director Sam Raimi teased at Comic-Con (see "'Evil Dead' on TV?,"), to begin airing in 2015, according to Variety. The new series will be titled Ash vs. Evil Dead and star Bruce Campbell as Ash.
Raimi co-wrote and will direct the first episode, and serve as executive producer for the series, along with Campbell and Rob Tapert.
A feature film did well last year (see "'Evil Dead' Shocks Box Office to Life"), and Dynamite Entertainment is launching a new comic series this month (see "Dynamite Launching 'Army of Darkness' #1992.1 in November").
