Warner Bros. has announced Michelle MacLaren as director for the upcoming Wonder Woman feature starring Gal Gadot (see "First Photo of Gal Godot as Wonder Woman"), Deadline is reporting. The announcement also confirms the film will release on June 23rd, one of two dates the studio reserved in 2017 (see "Warners Announces 9 More DC Movies").
MacLaren has directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead, and was an executive producer on Breaking Bad and X-Files. This will be the first time she’s directed a feature film.
Warner Bros. has given Gadot a three-picture deal (see "Warner Bros. Gives New 'Wonder Woman' 3-Picture Deal") which includes Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the stand-alone Wonder Woman pic, and presumably the Justice League Part One movie also scheduled for 2017, which will now be slotted in the November 17 spot.
