The Walking Dead hit a new high for its mid-season finale on Sunday night, drawing 14.8 million live viewers, up 23% from the same week last year. Nearly 10 million (9.8) viewers were in the 18-49 demo advertisers target, up 24% from the same week last year. The numbers will grow when timeshifting viewers are counted; the numbers for the season premiere grew nearly five million viewers with just three days of DVR views counted (see "'Walking Dead' Season Premiere Sets New Record").
The Walking Dead has been beating the Sunday night NFL games regularly (see "'Walking Dead' Tops NFL for 3rd Week in a Row").
AMC has released a teaser for the return of the series in February.
